Empowering Women in Addiction Project

As an artist and photographer, Hannah Mai Gordon aims to create visual representations of the unseen such as her own emotions and thoughts or ones of those around her. Gordon’s work aims to connect with a wide audience, despite being very person. As an artist in recovery, Gordon aims to build dialogues with others about what it’s like to live in a world where addiction is stigmatized, causing her to feel continuous pressure.

My project entitled “Empowering Women in Recovery” is focused on capturing the beauty of women who are in recovery and fighting the everyday battle with substance abuse and addiction. The purpose of this project is to fight the stigma surrounding those, especially women, in recovery from addiction.
